Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot could perform a major contract U-turn and stay at Juventus amidst interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
The talented French midfielder looked set to leave Juventus in the summer upon the expiry of his contract. It looked like a contract renewal was not an option and that Rabiot had to seek pastures new for his future.
However, it looks like things have taken a sudden turn. Juventus have apparently tabled a mega £6million per year contract with the French midfielder said to be considering the option of remaining in Turin.
Rabiot’s career has seen a massive upturn in fortune this season. After being extremely inconsistent for way too long in his career, the Frenchman has come into his own for Juventus and is showing his quality on a consistent basis.
The former PSG midfielder had a very good World Cup with France in Qatar. He emerged as an unlikely hero in the absence of Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante in his side’s run to the finals of the tournament where they lost to Argentina.
Rabiot would fit in very well in a team like Arsenal. He can play the role that Granit Xhaka does in Mikel Arteta’s team and to be fair to him, he can probably do it even better than the Swiss midfielder.
Arsenal might be interested in the 27-year-old. However, if Rabiot remains in Juventus and renews his deal there, it is highly unlikely that the Gunners will pursue a deal henceforth.
