Multiple reports were encircling earlier this week over Arsenal’s pursuit of Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst.
Its been claimed that, Premier League duo Arsenal and Newcastle United are keen on bringing the Dutch striker in the Premier League.
Weghorst has never hidden his desire to play in England and the interest from Arsenal got much attention in Netherlands owing to which the local media went to ask him over his take on recent rumours.
In talks with Bureau Sport, the 27-year-old made it clear that he would be more than happy to join Arsenal and club’s playing style would rather suit him
“That would be nice, wouldn’t it. That would be a good thing, of course that fits in the perfect picture. I would say, call them up, make them nice and warm, then it’s all right.”
The Dutch international was also asked about if he had heard about Arsenal’s interest before, he added: “Yes. In the end, of course, I also made a clear career plan, mapped out a plan. But you always have to see how it goes.”
Weghorst has netted 20 goals this season alongside 5 layoffs in 42 appearance for Wolfsburg, the side he signed for €10.5 million from AZ Alkmaar and now Die Wölfe’s seem to have a big profit opportunity.
