Arsenal will host Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday evening in a League Cup quarterfinal clash. The match will become the joint most played fixture in League Cup history.

Arsenal have won 7 of their previous 13 League Cup meetings against Tottenham including the most recent one when Mathieu Flamini brace was enough to see off Spurs at White Hart Lane.

Arsenal aim to bounce back from their shock defeat at the hands of Southampton while Spurs had to fight against a resolute Burnley and they certainly come into the game with extra motivation having suffered defeat at Emirates less than three weeks ago.

Spurs fell to a 4-2 defeat at the start of December but they have recovered well from that painful defeat with three league victories and an impressive draw at Camp Nou which ensured their progress in Champions League.

Arsenal on the other hand tasted defeat for the first time in 23 outings when Leno’s error allowed Charlie Austin to score the winning goal after Mkhitariyan twice brought Arsenal level.

Team News

The Gunners would reportedly be missing Hector Bellerin (calf injury) along with Rob Holding. A return for Shkodran Mustafi and Sead Kolasinac is also under doubt. However, much to their relief, Alexander Lacazette has come back with the team.

On the other hand, the Lilywhites will see their No. 1 Hugo Lloris rested as Paulo Gazzaniga will be given an opportunity to impress. Jan Vertonghen (thigh), Eric Dier (appendix) and Serge Aurier (groin) are already sidelined for the clash. Hopefully, Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez will possibly return. Oliver Skipp and Kyle Walkers-Peters could be expected to start.

Predicted Lineup

Arsenal XI: Cech; Lichtsteiner, Sokratis, Koscielny, Maitland-Niles; Guendouzi, Xhaka; Mkhitaryan, Ozil, Ramsey; Lacazette

Tottenham XI: Vorm; Walker-Peters, Alderweireld, Foyth, Davies; Winks, Skipp; Son, Alli, Lucas; Kane
