The latest reports have claimed that Arsenal is still looking to pursue their chase for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha this summer after a £40 million bid was rejected by the South London side earlier this week.
Arsenal failed to qualify for the Champions League in Unai Emery’s debut season with the club and is now paying the price for that incompetence towards the back end of the season. Having suffered humiliating defeats at the back end of the season, the Spanish manager will be given a transfer war chest of around £40 million to spend on reinforcements this summer.
Although Arsenal already signed Gabriel Martinelli from Ituano earlier this week, the North London side is now looking to make an even bigger splash in the transfer market to sign some big players and have primarily targeted Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace.
The 26-year-old forward was quite brilliant for the Eagles last season and attracted interest from Arsenal as he also admitted that he used to support the Gunners when he was younger. This has forced Arsenal to give it another shot at trying to sign Zaha this summer and the Emery is now preparing an improved bid in order to land the Ivorian superstar.
Arsenal will have to offload some of their unwanted players in order to afford Zaha this summer or exchange a big name player with Crystal Palace.
