Amidst the speculations of Alexandre Lacazette leaving for Atletico Madrid there comes a silver lining in Aubameyang’s suspension to the Frenchman.

In the distress of Arsenal , Lacazette has the perfect opportunity to regain his goalscoring run and carry the baton left by suspended Aubameyang. The Number 9 of Arsenal has found it difficult to carry on his form from last year and has seldom scored this season.

The Gabon international will miss upcoming three games for Arsenal after a suspension due to his horror tackle on Max Meyer in the draw at Crystal Palace. The suspension demands nothing but for his partner-in-crime to step up in his absence.

A majority of goals this season for Arsenal have been scored by Aubameyang and his absence will be certainly felt if Lacazette fails to step up. The Number 14 of Arsenal has equal number of goals as his jersey while his partner has only managed to score 5 goals.

Alexandre Lacazette has scored in only four games this season with goals coming against Burnley, Tottenham, two against Southampton and Brighton.

Arsenal have three tricky game up their sleeves: a home game to Sheffield United followed by a travel to Chelsea and the next to Burnley before Aubameyang finally arrives.

We have seen the mettle and ability of Lacazette to oust the opposition under pressure and the absence of Aubameyang demands one such performance. Mikel Arteta will surely lay the baton to Lacazette to negate the loss of Aubameyang and the only way to do that would be via scoring.

Lacazette may have gotten a bad start to his first half of the season but has the opportunity to bounce harder in the second. The Frenchman will be accompanied by the likes of Nicolas Pepe and Mesut Ozil with their creativity but the onus to score will surely fall on him. And it’s the perfect way Lacazette can shut his critics.

The only question remains:

Can the Robin shine without his Batman?
