Gabriel Jesus to return from injury against Sheffield United

Gabriel-Jesus-Injury-Return

Gabriel Jesus has missed 16 games because of injuries this season which has proven to be a measure of frustration for Arsenal fans.

The Brazilian reportedly deals with fluid on his knee and Mikel Arteta might have to look to manage his minutes in the coming weeks. Gabriel Jesus hasn’t featured for the Gunners since in 2-1 victory at City Ground against Nottingham Forest in January.

The 26-year-old was fit enough to make the bench against Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on the weekend but his servers weren’t needed as the men in Red and Whites cruised through the game winning 4-1.

Gabriel Jesus injury return vs Sheffield United

Mikel Arteta will have Gabriel Jesus fit and roaring to go as Arsenal visit Sheffield United on Monday night. Speaking about Jesus in this pre-match press conference, Mikel Arteta said:

“He’s fit enough. How long he will last that’s very different. We didn’t want to take any risks. We need him fit and now we want to make sure we load him in the right way.”

Gabriel Jesus’ injury concerns have reportedly forced Arsenal to look into market as they eye a new number nine. Missing about 100 days with injury in each of the past two seasons as the first-choice number nine striker is not ideal.

Mikel Arteta has called on Kai Havertz to fill in the number nine role in big games and the German international has done well playing upfront. He got a goal against Newcastle United last weekend playing in the striking role.

Alongside Gabriel Jesus, Mikel Arteta is also expected to welcome Thomas Partey, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Oleksandr Zinchenko when Arsenal visit Bramall Lane on Monday.

We will need to see whether Gabriel Jesus starts the game or is eased into his minutes on Monday considering the knee problems he has been having off-late. Would you start him against Sheffield United on Monday?
