Bernd Leno deserves more than we can speak about

Football from the start has been a strange game with contemporary football being shifting it’s focus from money-laden strikers to those who stand between the woodwork.

Lately, we have seen teams bidding heavily on goalkeepers which never used to happen before Buffon was purchased for £32 million by Juventus. Since then, goalkeepers have been heavily paid.

Does this conclude that goalkeepers who are heavily played perform better? No, right. We have aplenty examples of players performing out of their socks and income.

Like Liverpool and Chelsea, the Gunners were also looking to sign Oblak or even Becker for a heavy sum unless Emery took the helm and scanned an exemplary goalkeeper for a quarter sum they were willing to pay. Bernd Leno has been an asset for us, that goes without saying.

For the start of this season, he may have been our second choice keeper but to turn out as first replacing Petr Cech is an achievement in itself. Leading up to the expectations of Unai Emery, Bernd Leno has hogged all the limelight courtesy his high quality performances that even his heavily paid compatriots like Kepa and Becker have not proved for their sides.

The stats may be supporting Becker but the Brazilian has Virgil Van Dijk guiding his shoulder but with a fairly weak defence of Arsenal, it is Leno’s invaluable saves that has brought us in 3rd position of the Premier League.

“He is really playing with confidence and is helping us a lot,” Emery told football.london when asked to reflect on Leno’s form.

“I think Bernd is competitive with Cech and also now we are giving them two competitions, the Premier League for Leno and the Europa League for Petr Cech. They are both giving us a lot in goal.”

In the last four games of Premier League, we only lost once and that was the same game our Superman conceded a goal, apart from that he has not let opponents smash the ball past him. Collectively as a team we have only conceded one goal in 6 games, Europa League included, which speaks volumes about Sokratis and Koscielny too.

With all the subtle talent Leno has got, he has out-done every other goalkeeper in Premier League with his hands and reflexes. There is a lot to come from Leno in time to come and this German promises for a lot of miracles .

This individual surely deserves more than I can put in words, we guys can talk about and media can stumble their news on. A player with lower price tag and extreme quality is Superman Leno. Hope this stays for long.
