Dani Ceballos talks about Arsenal future!

Dani Ceballos was an ever-present name on Mikel Arteta’s team-sheet last season, but the arrival of Thomas Partey complied with his poor run of form meant he had to be a second fiddle this term.

While Arsenal and Dani Ceballos worked with tears & blood to make sure the Spaniard represented the men in Red and Whites, Real Madrid were playing hardball for any potential Dani Ceballos loan deal after a successful one at Arsenal in 2019, though persistence from the Gunners and Dani meant he’d don the infamous number eight for yet another year.

But things didn’t go as they’d have liked as the Madrid loanee has only started fifteen of Arsenal’s 33 Premier League games – though he is yet to record a single goal or assist.

Owing to the recent struggles to meet high standards, Dani Ceballos feels a return to Spain would be the best for him to rediscover his confidence.

“I’ve had a bad time because I didn’t have the consistency I had last year,” Ceballos speaking with Onda Cero ahead of Arsenal’s Europa League semi-final tie against Villarreal on Thursday. “These last 5 or 6 games I’ve played at a good level. To be honest I like La Liga a lot more. The Premier League is more complete but with my style, La Liga is much better for me. Another loan would be difficult from both sides, for Real Madrid and for me.”

Dani also opened up about a potential return to Real Betis, where he spent six years before Real Madrid took him into their stride in 2017.

“I’m about to turn 25 in August and I have to settle at a club where I feel important, that’s what I’ll look for. I have a lot of affection for Betis, I’m a Betis fan, I watch every Betis game, [Manuel] Pellegrini is a really good coach who I like,” Ceballos added.
