David Luiz will be a decisive figure for Arsenal this season

The David Luiz wave is yet to hit the shore of Emirates. The electric centre-back brought along a tide of expectations along with his history in Premier League. The 32-year-old Brazilian is mad at times and that’s only when his team prospers.

Looking at his performance against Liverpool that was accompanied by two horrifying mistakes that cost them two goals. The Brazilian is prone to turn the turn either way; for his side with his exemplary performances or against his with his unnecessary errors.

Why was David Luiz purchased? To put the defensive vulnerabilities of Arsenal in the grave. The coffin of erroneous defence was put under the ground when David Luiz was signed for only £8 million. But the former Chelsea defender has not kept to the expectation.

Luiz’ performance was extremely banal considering the aura that he has created.

David will have to abate the amount of mistakes that he made against the game of Liverpool and that he usually does against top 6 clubs. We have seen his vulnerability during the Chelsea days against elite clubs.

Tottenham, however, will have to be cognisant of the ability that the Brazilian possesses in the position of centre-back even with all his feebleness combined. The Brazilian is the best a team like Arsenal could get as a replacement for Koscielny and with former Frenchman absent, Luiz will have to step up taking his experience behind his back. Also, having maintained a whopping 76% tackle success rate in the Premier League career, he’s clearly not afraid to plunge into strikers.

The major threat for David will be the denizen of Tottenham, Harry Kane. The centre-forward is so strong so good that even the slightest of glimmers will give him the space to score. Luiz should not find himself in the estranged postion and tryst around in his own meadows.

The pragmatic approach of Luiz should be play his natural best and let his boots do the talking. If there’s someone who can turn the tables on it’s head it is this curly-haired demon lurking in the defence of Arsenal. Looking to put his past game to bed, Luiz will be a woken lion ready to roar.

Luiz was said to be sold by Chelsea was his incompetent and irregular attitude on the pitch. Until now, the Brazilian has proved the Blues kind of right but with a change in attitude and help of Emery, David can shine as well as be the beacon of victory.

His fearless approach and game intellect will come into picture when the deadly attack of Spurs kicks in. Apart from his decent defence, the set pieces conversion and free-kicks of Luiz can come in healthy. That why I repeat, the player with all with vulnerabilities is a bruised lion; more brutal, more lethal.
