Did you spot what Bernd Leno did after Southampton defeat?

Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno has been slammed by Roy Keane for his actions after Arsenal’s defeat to Southampton.

Bernd Leno was caught out five minutes from time, probably was also caught in double mind over ‘What to do’, which allowed Charlie Austin to give Southampton the lead and that was that took for the Saints to end Arsenal’s 22 match unbeaten run.

That was not enough for the German international, he was seen smiling and chatting about the same with Charlie Austin after the final whistle.

And Roy Keane was not impressed.

Keane, appearing on Sky Sports for a guest spell of punditry, added: “It’s poor decision-making. As soon as it leaves Shane’s foot you’re thinking, he’s in trouble here.

“He’s having a good chat about it afterwards but he shouldn’t, he should be straight down that tunnel and hanging his head.

“They talk about the steel in this Arsenal team. I still have huge doubts about this defence.”

Graeme Souness, who was appearing alongside Roy Keane on Skysports, also critisezed Leno.

He said: “You’ve got to have a close look at the goalkeeper here.

“He makes his mind up to go for it but having been at the near post, it’s totally the wrong decision for the goalkeeper to make – to go from the near post to the far post.

“He should have backed on to his line here. It’s not a great ball, that’s what’s tempted him.”

BBC Sports commentator Danny Mills also didn’t hold his words back on Bernd Leno, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live.

“Bernd Leno has got to look at himself,” the former England defender said.

“He started to come, a bit of a rush of blood, then changed his mind.

“He went back into his six-yard box then as the cross comes in he’s not set properly and comes out like Superman.

“He dives one handed, misses it completely and Charlie Austin just has to let it hit his head and it’s into an empty net.

“That was against the run of play. We didn’t see that coming!”
