Unai Emery and Arsenal breathed another injury blow after their specialist midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan was adjudged injured for 6 weeks. The Armenian has sustained a foot injury and will be out until February.

Mkhitaryan has fractured metatarsal in his right foot which will keep him out of action. The injury that took place against Tottenham Hotspur in their recent EFL Cup defeat, has brought a source of tension for Unai Emery. This is third blow for Arsenal Boss after losing Rob Holding and Danny Welback to season ending injuries.

A substantial blow for Gunners when they host Brighton in the boxing day encounter, Mkhitaryan who had made 20 appearances for this season and created wonderfully crafted goals. Unai Emery will miss his creative genius until February and will have to shuffle his pieces in a way to create good balance without Henrikh.

The only good, Gunners can take out from injury is the fact that January has arrived and brought with itself a break wherein, the blow will not be severe but mild for the team. Currently fifth, Arsenal would want other players to step up in Henrikh’s absence if they fancy their chances of playing in next Champions League.
