End of the road for another Arsenal superstar?

Mesut_Ozil

Has anyone even begun to wonder what on earth has happened to Mesut Ozil? The gifted playmaker has barely featured for Arsenal this season under new boss Unai Emery and a move away from the club seems imminent.

Under former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, Mesut Ozil was one of the best players on the pitch. The World Cup winner was instrumental for Germany during the grand tournament in 2010 when he aided Germany to their fourth World Cup title. Ozil also ended Arsenal’s trophy drought when he guided the North London club to the FA Cup back during the 2013-14 season.

The high-quality midfielder has sometimes been described as a ‘luxury player’, which means that he chooses whichever games he wants to step up during. But there is no denying that Ozil’s ability is being wasted at Arsenal as he has not been given regular football.

Since the start of 2019, Ozil has made just two appearances for Arsenal with many wondering why he is not even included in the squad let alone the starting eleven. Once again there was no sign of Ozil during Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town this weekend which led fans to believe that Emery’s relationship with Ozil has reached the path of no reconcile.

Clearly, Emery is not a fan of Ozil and his game style and recent reports indicate that Arsenal is keen on letting the 30-year-old leave the club in the summer.

Ozil is costing Arsenal a fortune with his massive wages every week and with nothing on the football pitch; it remains a puzzle as to why Ozil is still at the club.

Reports from Italy claimed that Arsenal is trying to offer Ozil to Serie A outfit Inter Milan in the summer with a pre-contract agreement. Ozil recently quit the German national team after reports of racism from the German football board and now fans will begin to wonder how long before he leaves Arsenal?
