Arsenal has been emerged victorious against Sheffield United when they faced in the 4th game week at Emirates Stadium.

Goals from Bukayo Saka and Nicolas Pepe ensured that the Gunners leave this fixture with all 3 points in the bag, ahead of the transfer deadline day and the upcoming international break.

It was a lackluster first half with both teams being structurally well organized and difficult to break at. Arsenal enjoyed a lot of the ball but struggled to graft proper chances with it.  A tame header from young Eddie Nketiah and a long-range effort from Aubameyang was the sole attempt for Arsenal in the opening half.

Arsenal were rejuvenated in the second half, being sharper in their passing. The introduction of Nicolas Pepe for Eddie Nketiah completely shifted the balance in favor of the Gunners. A quick linkup play in Sheffield’s third, which resulted in a Bukayo Saka goal opened the deadlock. A few moments later, Hector Bellerin released Nicolas Pepe, who was on a run and ended up scoring a beautiful solo goal, cooly slotting the ball in the far post.

Sheffield did show some sort of resilience at the end, by a long-range goal by McGoldrick, but was not able to get past the Arsenal defense furthermore which ultimately ended up in a Gunners win. It was a vital 3 points for the Gunners, who end up in the 4th place in the table after a crazy run of games elsewhere. Early days, but the gunners seem to be heading in the right direction towards a top4 finish.

Now, there is still business to be done in this transfer window. This is the deadline day for the European window, and Arsenal has failed to achieve the goals for the window. They have not offloaded their players who are deemed surplus to requirements and have not brought the required personnel to bolster their squad.

But recent updates state the potential departures of Lucas Torreira (Loan with option to buy, Atletico Madrid), Sead Kolasinac (Permanent deal to Bayer Leverkusen), and  Matteo Guendouzi (loan to Hertha Berlin). No further updates on incomings, with Arsenal, have reportedly lost their negotiations with Lyon for creative midfielder Housseem Aouar, who was linked to Arsenal the entire window.

Mikel Arteta has said that the club is trying its maximum to finalize certain deals, and is confident in their approach in the window. Arsenal are known to make big signings on the deadline day, with Mesut Ozil, Kieran Tierney and Aubameyang have been signed on the deadline day in the past.

The deadline day will be crucial for Arsenal, in terms of how their season is going to proceed. It seems to be a busy deadline day for the gunners,at least in terms of departures. Will the gunners be able to recruit the required targets, we will have to wait and see..
