Reports suggest Arsenal are looking to bring a young Spanish midfielder and Barcelona player, Denis Suarez, to their ranks this January.
The 24-year-old had made the news in England somewhere in 2012, only 17 then, he was signed by the Premier League giant Manchester City for £850,000. The youngster did have a short run of spell in Sky-Blues before leaving for Spain to play for Sevilla under Unai Emery.
This is where Suarez caught the eyes of Emery. The player on-loan from Barcelona featured under Emery for a year before leaving for Villarreal only to return back to Barcelona in 2016. Though, Since then, the midfielder has been warming the bench at Camp Nou.
Speaking after hitting a brace in the Copa del Rey win against Cultural Leonesa last month, Suarez said: “I work to play and I do not have minutes, if I do not play… we’ll see.
“I want to play, today I had fun and I felt good, at ease. I want to play as much as possible.”
Denis is not presented with the game time he deserves, nowhere near that, and that makes him want to ship to somewhere he is valued and played on regular basis. With Arsenal showing ample interests and Unai Emery stewarding the ship, Denis Suarez is likely to join the Gunners.
But, if he does join the Gunners, What are the potential consequences he would make on the team? Where and how would he fit in?
A replacement for Aaron Ramsey ?
Aaron Ramsey has been linked with innumerable clubs, Juventus topping the list, of an exit after the end of this season or maybe even this January. Arsenal and the Welshman reached a deal before the Gunners backing out outta-nowhere which either leaves the club to sell him in January or let go for free at the end of this season.
With 27-year-old Ramsey going off and already retired from international football, Mesut Ozil is also under the radar for his presence on the sidelines rather than on the pitch on regular basis under Unai Emery has led to some doubts and speculations leading the World Cup winner out of Emirates, although his agent was soon public to deny such claims.
With Ramsey bidding farewell, Arsenal have found a potential prospect in this prodigious youngster, Denis Suarez.
His strengths and similarities to Ramsey!
The Spaniard is a playmaker with a natural role of regaining and receiving possession between the lines with passes and crosses being his strength. He has the ability of creating spaces or even goal-scoring chances for himself with a gifted talent of running through the defenders.
Not only that, the Spaniard also expertise in first touch that help him make the most of his movement on the ball combining with quick passes. All this attributes somehow resemble to out Arsenal great Aaron Ramsey who is as good as anybody else in playmaking, movement with the ball and short passes.
Both the players are appropriate in playing/shooting at the far post which makes them unorthodox.
If, Juventus are successful in signing the Welshman, Suarez will be ideal to replace him, although no one can achieve what Ramsey has done for the club but the Spaniard’s passing vision makes him a rotation for Ramsey in the midfield.
But is he that capable to put on the shoes of Ramsey? Or Will he set into the tune of English Premier League and hard working Emery’s team? Only time will tell!!
