West Ham vs Arsenal: Preview | Premier League 2019/20

West-Ham-vs-Arsenal-Preview

Arsenal’ bid to end their worse run in over 42 years takes them to the London stadium where West Ham United hosts the Gunners. The Gunners after their loss to Brighton on Thursday are now 9 games without a win and the last thing they would want is to take their woeful tally into double figures.

West Ham are no good either. The Londoners have won only 1 game in their last 10 outings and are in a crisis level ahead of Arsenal.

Arsenal’s interim boss Freddie Ljungberg’s campaign plunged with a defeat ending the manager’s first game in despair. The Swede has been able to collect only one point from two games that he has stewarded and would definitely want to gain some wins under his belt.

Team News

Dani Ceballos and Rob Holding still remain the injured candidates of Arsenal who will be out of the squad. Apart from these two, every other player is available and deemed fit.

Nicolas Pepe may get a go after his short but effective performance in the last outing. The youngster will probably play in more midfield role with Mesut Ozil playing in the front three position alongside Lacazette and Aubameyang.

As for the hosts, former Gunner sensation Jack Wilshere may start the game after returning from his injury. Also, Winston Reid is nearing an injury and may well be in the starting XI.

Head To Head

The North Londoners did not lose to their neighbours in their last 12 games before getting pinned this January courtesy a goal from Delclan Rice. This was West Ham’s only victory in the last 24 games that both the teams had played of which Arsenal recorded wins in 18 of them.

The Hammers have a chance of winning two back to back games against the Gunners’ something they have not done since 2007. The Gunners walk in with their meekest form in a decade and a draw is surely on the cards.

Predicted Line-up

West Ham possible starting lineup:
Martin; Fredericks, Balbuena, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Yarmolenko, Noble, Rice, Fornals; Anderson; Antonio

Arsenal possible starting lineup:
Leno; Bellerin, Sokratis, Luiz, Tierney; Xhaka, Guendouzi; Pepe, Ozil, Aubameyang; Lacazette
