Why not pay Ramsey instead of signing Banega…

We at Arsenal Core have always understood the likes and dislikes of Arsenal fans. This time it was about Ever Banega who many feel is an unwanted and ill-resourceful signing, considering his age, position and abilities. The Argentine, Ever Banega has snapped up in speculations of being transferred to Arsenal at a pay of around £18 million.

The speculations are even stronger, considering Unai Emery at helm who has already stewarded Banega in 94 games during his reign at Sevilla. Unai Emery regularly picks up his man and during his time in Spain it was, Banega who caught the eyes of future Arsenal manager. The pair also worked together between 2009-2012 in Valencia.

No doubt, Banega is a star prospect but is he really the one that Arsenal are in need of? The Argentine has already aged 30 and has very few years under his belt. Instead of, letting Aaron Ramsey go for free, maybe Arsenal could increase his wages by the same amount they are willing to pay to Ever Banega.

FA Cup: 2013–14,[74] 2014–15,[146] 2016–17[147] FA Community Shield: 2014,[148] 2015[149] EFL Cup runner-up: 2017–18[150]

RAMSEY’S ARSENAL CAREER IN SILVERWARE; FA Cup: 2013–14, 2014–15, 2016–17 | FA Community Shield: 2014, 2015 | EFL Cup runner-up: 2017–18

Not only will it retain an experienced and extremely crafty midfielder but also a player who has done wonders SINGLEHANDEDLY for Arsenal and Wales. The creative and game sense that Ramsey has is far beyond any midfielders reach as well as his experience in the Premier League, which is a gift not to be slipped.

Even more, Arsenal already have a star-packed midfield with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey and recent signings Lucas Torreira, Guendouzi. What Arsenal need to spend on is a centre-back who they are in deep need of and even if they want to spend this £18 million, the most appropriate way to do so is increase Ramsey’s wages and let him wowing Arsenal fans furthermore.

The midfielder has already completed 10 years playing for the club and is the most loved by the fans too. Apart from being fans favourite, Ramsey has proved his worth becoming clubs most goal-scoring midfielder, a true professional and a servant at his time in Emirates. With only 6 months left in his time at Arsenal, the Gunners should not create a havoc in their future midfield by letting a “wonder kid turned legend” go away from their gasp.
