Would Aaron Ramsey be an asset for Bayern Munich?

There have been increasing rumors about Bayern Munich being ‘favorites’ to land Arsenal skipper Aaron Ramsey.

The future of Aaron Ramsey lies uncertain but what we do know is that the Welshman is set to leave Arsenal in the summer, with the move in January looking quite unlikely. Unai Emery has nevertheless admitted that no new contract will be given to our very own Aaron Ramsey and a transfer at the end of the season it the only way out as of now. One leading candidate has emerged in the race to sign Aaron Ramsey in form of Arsenal’s arch-rivals Bayern Munich.

Talking about Bayern Munich, they are at the moment in what we call a ‘transnational period’, their head coach Nico Kovac is under high pressure of keeping his job and their performances are just not adding up to the standards Bayern Munich are known to perform. They have been outgrown in Germany by Borussia Dortmund. Talking about what goes in Germany, Borussia Dortmund have been far from competitive since Jurgen Klopp left the helms at BVB. But right now, their transaction under Farve is exceptional as the men in yellows are celebrating seven points lead at the top of the Bundesliga table.

You can consider what you want but it won’t change the fact that Bayern Munch are struggling, you may call it a transitional period or a grey patch – you just cannot ignore the fact and their most trusted legs might just be the reason they are performing as they are. With high respect to everyone and nothing to take away from their contributions at Munich, Bayern got some oldies who need make way for the young and impactful talents, ITS HIGH TIME NOW. We are talking about the Legendary players like Frank Ribery, Robert Lewandowski and yes Arjen Robben. I know they have been part of history at The Allianz Arena – in fact greater part of their attack still relies on Robert Lewandowski. But now its time to get some fresh legs in with modern approach to the game coz’ the burden on them has to be shifted. I am not telling to just sell them, nah, you could just hand them more of a bench duty, an impact sub, maybe.

Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman himself admitted the aging issue, “We have a very good team, but it’s true: It’s aging a bit. You must think about new players at the right time.”

With the aging issue, their recent signings haven’t lived up to the expectations and The Bavarians are all in to get some impact signings to lift the squad up and that is when Aaron Ramsey comes int picture.

Now, of course not any Brits have walked down the lane to Germany and played for the likes of Bayern Munich. Its something very rare, in fact – Aaron Ramsey could only be the third or the fourth player from Britain at Munich, if he concludes his move to Bayern. At the same time, it could just become something of a trend in the upcoming era with the success of likes of Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson.

Talking about Aaron Ramsey, Bayern Munich provides Champions League football and since he is available on free deal, he will get the big weekly cheques he is been asking for. We know that Bayern are capable of paying the big bucks and it just ticks all the stipulations that Aaron would want at his new club – The beautiful city of Munich, Champions League football, Title diggers and Big fat pay-cheque.

But it the end its all up to Aaron Ramsey.

We have talked about how Bayern Munich are a team in transition, of-course Aaron is twenty-seven and could just be the diamond they need to get back up there. He is someone whose arrival will certainly please Bayern Munich supporters but he is NOT the approach Bayern Munich generally takes to transfer market. We’ve seen the likes of Manchester City, Barcelona, PSG and Real Madrid sucking the window with tons of cash where they are signing players with $100 million tags or so alike but at the same time you cannot ignore the authenticity that they have kept up with the Spanish giants of Bara-Madrid over the years.

But they are not paying a single transfer penny for Aaron Ramsey and are still getting a world class lad in the Welshman but in the end its all upto him, with ofcourse all the European giants laying the ‘red carpet’ for him with the likes of Juventus and Manchester United leading the race alongside the German giants.

Although, I don’t believe Jose Mourinho will sanction the purchase of Aaron as it just contradicts the kind of style and approach both of them have to the game – you cannot take away the FREEDOM factor from him, if you want to get the best out of him.

Ramsey will bring the energy Bayern need upfront, someone driving in the opponents’ box to get on the second or the third balls and make his presence felt. Thomas Muller used to play this role but its time now. Ramsey is a blend of superb technique and influential style of play. He could bring the fluency up-front for Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich would have given anything to get Steven Gerrard at his peak, well they certainly didn’t get him but they will get a Gerrard-esque player in Aaron Ramsey. Former Arsenal player Ray Parlour said that Aaron Ramsey can “become as influential as Steven Gerrard”. With the Liverpool legend himself hailing Ramsey as “the best attacking midfielder in the Premier League”, in December of 2015.

Liverpool and England Legend Steven Gerrard was in high praises about the Welshman

Looking at this from commercial point of view, Aaron Ramsey will bring loads of expansion to the club commercially. They will be expecting to sell thousands and thousands of jerseys with the name ‘Aaron Ramsey’ printed on the back and their supporters will get a world-class player – in his peak and they could get a good few years out of him. He is twenty-seven, he’z still got maybe atleast another four-five excellent years in him.

I did write earlier about; Aaron Ramsey’s unlikely January move out of Arsenal – but let’s talk about it from a business point of view. Bayern can wait until the summer for his contract to run-out but even if its six months – you are looking at a feasible risk of losing him to many of other clubs who are ready to pay big bucks to Arsenal as well as Ramsey to get him onboard as soon as possible. If the Reds from Munich do get him, its serves as a boost, to their season and could just embrace a halo around the club with the confidence and energy he brings in.

Aaron Ramsey has worked with Arsene Wenger for over a decade

He could be a savior to Kovac and if he departs and Arsene Wenger likely being the favorite to replace him – it will just be an Icing on the cake and mind me but the duo of ‘Wenger-Ramsey’ can just do wonder for Bayern. It’s a decision Bayern has to make and the risk factor they have to consider rather than the financial one.

Lets look at this from a critic point of view, as a Bayern fan you would be worried for all the games he has missed and in fact his starting record under Unai Emery is something you would not like a sneak-peek of, he is someone many could argue would not get in many top sides around Europe. Yes, he has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Juventus but talking about them – they need class whereas right now, What Bayern Munich needs is – consistency.

But as a Gooner, also referring to long-time Arsenal fan @Paolo_Bandini, I rate Ramsey very highly. Talking about ‘What he does and What he wants to do’- Arsenal have the likes of Mesut Ozil to take charge of similar responsibilities but when he is with Wales, Ramsey has shown that he can drive the team forward when/if given the correct chances and responsibilities.

It’s a risk worth taking for Bayern Munich, also considering the fact that ‘it comes for nothing’.
