French striker Alexandre Lacazette who joined Arsenal back in 2017, is out of contract next summer. There is still no news whether he will renew his contract with the Gunners or leave as a free agent.

Lacazette has played a key role in the Arsenal squad for the last 4 seasons, making 130 appearances in the process and scoring 50 goals in all competitions.

The striker currently earns £180k per week with the Gunners. He sits 3rd in the list of Arsenal’s highest-paid players.

Since the start of the new campaign, Lacazette is yet to start a Premier League game with Arsenal. He has only made substitute appearances so far and, in the Carabao Cup, the French striker has managed to score 2 goals in two matches.

With less than 9 months remaining on his contract, Mikel Arteta has already started his search for a new striker according to the reports in London.

Two names who are exciting prospects have emerged i.e Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins and Everton striker Dominic Calvert Lewin. The duo are currently under contract with their respective clubs till 2025.

Ollie Watkins aged 25 and, Calvert Lewin aged 24 have been impressive in terms of their performance last season. Watkins managed to score 14 goals for Aston Villa in the Premier League and his fellow England teammate Calvert Lewin managed to score 16 goals.

Negotiating with Aston Villa or Everton to recruit their strikers will be difficult for Arsenal because both teams will be reluctant to sell their players.

The Gunners have already spend around £150 Million in this season’s summer transfer window making them the team who has spent the most amount of money in the whole of Europe.

Arsenal currently sit 11th on the points table after the draw against Brighton. They will be back in action on 19th October against London rivals Crystal Palace.
