Where Denis Suarez’ transfer leave Ivan Perisic?

Arsenal have been linked with multiple big names this transfer window and after all the hopes they are all set to make a statement signing in Denis Suarez on a loan deal, but what does that mean for Ivan Perisic?

Both the players were highly linked with a move to North-London as Unai Emery looks to blister his squad, although with the Inter Milan man favorites amongst the two in recent days.

Ivan handed in a transfer request on Sunday with Arsenal circling around his signatures and terms were assumed to be agreed between the club and their probable recruit.

Inter’s General Manager Beppe Marotta did admit that Perisic wants to leave though he made clear that Arsenal had not yet come forward with an offer.

“It’s difficult to keep players who don’t want to stay, but no real offer has come in yet so there are no grounds,’ said Marotta.

“It’s up to us to manage this situation.

“I was hoping for a very quiet transfer window. Instead, there have been very few developments and plenty of dissatisfaction.”

Inter Milan benched Perisic for their 1-0 loss to Torino and Luciano Spalletti was critical of the Croatian after the final whistle.

Spalletti said: ”Perisic, it’s simple. As I said yesterday, players can say what they want.

“Of course they’re at the club, they’re paid by us, so you need to have a buyer. He cannot go away for free.

“If he does not want to play as [Beppe] Marotta said, it is clear that he will stay out (of the team). There are no problems, when one cannot make a contribution, it helps to get rid of them.”

Unai Emery recently admitted that Arsenal will sign in between ‘nil-two’ players this window and also confirmed that a defender and winger were his basic priorities.

“The idea is firstly to find the quality and this quality can help us,” he said. “We need, if he can come here, a winger for the right or left or some players also at centre back.”

Denis Suarez’ agreed to join Arsenal – the news broke out of the blue and it would directly affect the possibility of watching Ivan in Arsenal colors.

With Suarez, he is able to play in the middle as well on the wings, it appears that’s one box ticked.

Arsenal can only sign one more player this month, if Emery is true to his words. And with Arsenal interested in a loan deal for Paris Saint Germain’s Christopher Nkunku as well, that leaves Perisic’s chances of joining Arsenal quite slim.

While we don’t rule out the move by any means, the odds are stacked against the Croatian from sealing a switch to the North Londoners.

Inter Milan also made clear that they will only listen to permanent offers while Arsenal can only bring players in on loan.
